Few weird bumper sticker signs and hoardings I've come across of late:

1) Latak Mat Patak Doonga - Oh really?
2) Aage wala kabhi bhi khada hojayega - what the!?
3) Himmat Hai To Side Se Nikal, Warna Bardasht Kar - and we're scared now, aren't we?
4) Best English speaking "corse" only at Vatican - Christ!

In this society we are compelled to respect or at the least feign respect for people and things you feel ridiculous.. As a result we tend to live timidly with all those stupid social conventions which we abhor and know that they lack any base whatsoever..
There is this conflict always with your ideas and your desires and all those formalities and vain pretenses which make you sad and troubled...In all that conflict one loses all the joys of life and the feeling of individuality...all 'cause we are stamped down whenever we try to express our beliefs...there is no platform provided to display them either...even if it is said that there are enough opportunities given they are just virtual...but we want a virtuous one!

Knock on my door only when i'm heard.

An earthquake hit NCR (National Capital region) last night at around 4am and I couldn't feel a thing!
People asking me from all over the place if we were OK and me giving them blank answers with a dazed look until i read about it on the News. Shit! embarrassing indeed!

I really do not know what to comment on this. I'm not the kind of person to comment about the good and the bad about any religion. Really. I do not want to. But then after watching these videos I'm just shocked!!

A debate on Wife beating

A cleric talking about Wife beating on a Friday sermon

On wife beating on a Talk show

It really pains to even know about this stuff.

Subject:My Old Tata
Security:Public
Mood: sick

The patchy road still leads me to my work place...the Durgam Cheruvu lake is still filled with water hyacinth (don't really know when the concerned people would take some action and clean it up!)....the paan shop wala as usual is catering to his customers...the sun is ablaze right over my head all set to roast me up....the lonely tree by the lake is still standing still....
aah! its just another weekday for me...days come by and days go by...but these things havent really changed much for the past 1 1/2 years! and so i sped past observing all these as a part of my daily routine...
Hey! But wait!Somethig is amiss! Whatever happened to Old Tata??!! (that is what i've named the old man who sits under the lonely tree with just his water bottle)  Gasp!
Is he alive? Has he shifted to some place else? Did the cops do something to him? Hell No!
I suddenly felt a lump in my throat as these crazy thoughts started running through my head. So, I slow down my kine and turn back and take a look again carefully...Again, No! Old Tata is not to be seen there...Sigh! But then all of a sudden i get a glimpse, somewhere by the side of the road this familiar, thin, fragile figure, with bent knees, moving slowly with his filled water bottle towards his tree... Phew! with a sigh of relief i restart my kine and head towards my office.

Its not for anyone and everyone that you feel compassionate about in your everyday life...
I travel the same roads everyday to work and almost at the same time in the mornings and i pass by almost the same vehicles and i see the same familiar faces everyday...strange it may sound but i HAVE to see or come across these things everyday for me to call it a normal day, else the day just doesnt seem right to ...and one such face is this Old Tata's...i really havent done much to help him but feel sorry for his plight and go past him...
and today, when i didnt see him under the tree i was almost in tears and realised how much he is a part of my daily life!
so, i've decided to help him with some basic stuff . don't exactly know what more i could do to help this man...

I really hope you live long and healthy Old Tata!

Mood: annoyed

I so very disapprove of Bangalore being renamed as "Bengaluru"!
And bull crap the 'u' vowel distinguishes our language as per the great Jnanpith Award winner, Mr.You-Are-A-Jobless-Freaku-Ananthmurthy!
The man also adds "By adding the ‘u,’ even words like chair-u and table-u become Kannada".
WTF? what was he even thinking when he made such a statement?? Talk about such great people showing their Kannada sentiments! Did you hear that Mr.Vatal Nagaraj-u? what do you have to say about this-u? wasnt "kurchi" or "meju" enough words for the Kannada dictionary?

Why why why just why?
Is my voice gonna be heard at all? Is my opinion gonna matter at all?

Subject:Superstition!
Security:Public
Mood: contemplative
Music:tu aashiqui hai - jhankaar beats

i would like certain things (well...to be frank all the things) to behave the way i expect them to. though such might not be the case. but that is besides the point now...what i wanna say is that they say 'we are what we think'...there are some beliefs in us which are based culturally/religiously.
yes. am talking about superstitions.
superstition is a type of belief that one can choose not to "buy into". those who choose to believe, find their world delivering what they expect...and those who dont, arent affected..
but that doesnt mean its the foundation of ignorance! we all have our faiths. the whim of 'good luck' is nothing but being superstitious. and who doesnt want 'good luck'??
there are certain things in our lives which we have just grown into believing though they are based on no reasons or have any rational justifications...and that isnt stupid i feel.

As long as these superstitions dont lead to extremes like unwarranted fears or something similar without complicating life, i feel being superstious is absolutely normal.
